MotoGP Team takes to GSeries BPA with Capirossi and Aoyama
Friday, 10 January 2014
This weekend marks the start of the 2014 GSeries BPA, as the ice racing championship kicks off its ninth season. For this first round, representatives of the new MotoGP Team will include Loris Capirossi and Hiroshi Aoyama.
At Andorra’s Grandvalira Circuit, Dorna Sports will launch its MotoGP Team in this year’s GSeries as top riders and organisers from the world of MotoGP™ take to the ice.
For this first edition, Capirossi and Aoyama need no introduction; the Italian rode to three World Championship titles during his lengthy motorcycling career while in more recent times he has represented Dorna with his contribution MotoGP Safety Advisor. The Japanese, on the other hand, was the 250 World Champion of 2009 and this year will embark on a new challenge as he joins Nicky Hayden at Power Electronics Aspar.
Completing the MotoGP Team line-up this weekend are Claude Michy, organiser of the French MotoGP™ event, and Nasser Khalifa Al Attiyah, President of the Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and General Manager of the Losail International Circuit. All four drivers will be at the wheel of Zanini Racing Peugeot Proto G cars.
