Confirmed: Corti fit to race at Silverstone
Monday, 26 August 2013
It has been confirmed that Italy’s Claudio Corti will be able to contest this weekend’s Hertz British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The NGM Mobile Forward Racing rider crashed out of Sunday’s Czech Grand Prix at the start of the second lap, involved in a collision with Avintia Blusens’ Hector Barbera. Corti was taken to the Fakultní Nemocnice Brno Hospital, where he remained overnight before being dispatched at 10:30am local time (GMT +2) on Monday. After undergoing an x-ray to his right hand, Corti - who had suffered concussion - also had a CT scan to allow doctors to exclude any further damage.
“I am flying back home in a few hours,” he commented upon leaving the hospital. “The doctors want me to rest for the next two days but say that I am fit to ride. I will try to be at a 100% for the race at Silverstone. See you all there.”
Doctors have advised Corti to rest for two days in order to be declared fit to race.
