Crutchlow quickest as Sunday action begins
Sunday, 16 June 2013
Cal Crutchlow led the way as MotoGP™ first took to the track at the Circuit de Catalunya on Sunday morning. The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider led Yamaha Factory Racing duo Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.
Crutchlow topped the timesheets with 1’42.270, leading Lorenzo by just one thousandth of a second as Rossi and Repsol Honda Team’s pole-sitter Dani Pedrosa completed the top five with Ducati Team’s Nicky Hayden. In the vicinity of the circuit were dark clouds, worrying the teams about possible rain for the race, as the two crashers of the session were Lukas Pesek (Came IodaRacing Project, Turn 7) and Randy de Puniet (Power Electronics Aspar, Turn 4).
The Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya will start at 2pm local time (GMT +2).
