DAVID LUIZ: REASON TO SMILE

It was a tired but satisfied David Luiz who spoke after the win over Everton and 57 games personally which yielded some rewards.
The Brazilian was accompanied by his mother sporting a curly wig for the lap of appreciation after the final game, when the fans were thanked for their support during a marathon season. The visitors to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon had been beaten 2-1 to give Chelsea third place in the league to add to the Europa League trophy won midweek.
'It was a difficult game against a strong team but it was great in the end,' said David Luiz. 'All the season was so difficult but when you can win one European title and qualify for the Champions League directly then it was amazing.
'The team we have has a great mentality. Sometimes you cannot win all the games but the team's experience is strong and we keep working every day. All my team mates focus on winning because if you play for a big team you need to focus all the time.'
He might be feeling drained by the exertions of the past few months but David Luiz is certainly not complaining about the work load.
'It has been a long season for Chelsea and for me and I am so tired now, but I love to play football. Sometimes I am tired but not just Chelsea, the Brazil national team as well have a great team so you can change some players to play some games.
'I enjoy every day, not just during the season. God gave me a fantastic life with my health first, with my family which is amazing and with a great job. I enjoy every day and of course I enjoy this season because Chelsea need to win trophies every year and I won one more trophy and qualified for the Champions League.'
The 26-year-old finished his summing up of Sunday and the season with words for the departing Rafael Benitez.
'Thank you to him because he was an amazing coach, not just for the team but for me as well.
'He taught me a lot because he is an experienced coach. He is a professional and he showed that all the time because some people spoke bad things about him and all the time he supported the pressure. I am pleased for him because he can leave having won a trophy and qualified the team for the Champions League.
'When we change the coach the mentality needs to be the same. When you play for a big club you need to win games and titles, and we wait for the next coach and for him we want to win titles. This is a big club.'
