Büttner aims to impress
Manchester United left-back Alex Büttner is hoping to play a part in the final Champions League Group A fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday, as the Reds look to cement top spot. The Dutch defender, who came on as a substitute for the final 20 minutes of United's 5-0 win away to Bayer Leverkusen last month, is hoping that in light of the Reds' recent qualification to the knockout stages, he may be given a chance to impress against the Ukrainians. "It was fantastic to qualify for the last 16 - it's good for the club, the manager, the players and the fans. It's a huge competition and everyone wants to win this trophy," Büttner told ManUtd.com after United's last Champions League game in Germany. "Everyone was sharp and the whole team played well. We fought for every ball and played some good football. The confidence was really good throughout the team and we need to make sure we win the group now. "I was pleased to get some minutes in such a big game and I hope to get some more in the next few matches," he added. "I am training hard every day and I hope to be involved in the games coming up. I'm waiting for my chance."
